“After the hype has subsided, affordable week-long tours for two in the UAE will cost about 150,000 rubles, and to Egypt — 120-160,000 rubles. Thailand will still remain in a fairly expensive segment — about 150-180 thousand rubles,” Muradyan said.

According to him, Russian tourists will be able to save 45-50%. Discounts will also appear on expensive destinations: the Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta. Recall that Thailand is preparing a package of new measures designed to stimulate tourism and domestic spending. In particular, the proposals include suspending Duty Free stores in the arrival zones of all airports and reducing alcohol taxes.

The representative of the authorities noted that these steps are aimed at redistributing the spending of tourists and local residents within the country. Thai operator Duty Free King Power expressed its readiness to support the Ministry’s initiative in order to stimulate tourism and the overall economy.
