This option increases the shelf life of the dish, told TASS in Roskachestvo. “Ideally, salads should not be seasoned with sauces; it is desirable for the manufacturer to put them separately,” explained Olesya Kulikova, Deputy Director of the HACCP Food Safety Principles Department (Roskachestvo). She added that the shelf life of a salad can be calculated in hours and advised using yoghurt, olive oil, mayonnaise or sour cream as a dressing. Kulikova warned that when opening the package, it is necessary to assess the smell of the dish, evaluate the ingredients in terms of damage and weathering. Roskachestvo advised buying salads just before the New Year’s feast and eating them first. The Ministry drew attention to the fact that sellers can simply re-paste labels; it is safer to buy ready-made food in large high-traffic stores.
