At the end of 2023, Kazan became one of the most popular destinations for flights, taking 6th place. The capital of Tatarstan was ceded to Moscow, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Mineral Waters, Yandex Travel analysts found out.

On average, tourists spent three days in Kazan. They started booking plane tickets mostly 18 days before the trip.

Makhachkala, Yekaterinburg and Samara were also among the popular air destinations in 2023. Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan, neighboring Tatarstan, closed the top 10.

Compared to last year, in 2023, the share of flights to non-CIS countries increased from 9% to 12%. The share of domestic destinations fell from 85% to 82%, while trips to neighboring countries did not change and amounted to 6%.

The most popular foreign destinations in 2023 were Turkey, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The top 10 also includes the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand and China.
