Prior to this, Gazprom wrote that the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia developed a concept for the development of car tourism until 2035 on behalf of President Vladimir Putin.

Representatives of the tourism industry supported the initiative, calling the development of campsites a key area. The Ministry of Economy also pointed out the need for a sharp expansion of the motorhome rental market.
