7 things you need to do on Sunday to be productive next week



Monday morning, you can hardly bring yourself to get out of bed. You’re tired and it’s like there weren’t any days off. You don’t have enough time to get ready for work. You don’t have a snack, so you’ll have to eat fast food for lunch. You sit down at your desk and sigh heavily. It’s gonna break a hell of a leg here. After all, you couldn’t wait until the end of work on Friday so you can go home faster. The mailbox is full. There is more spam than work emails. This is going to be a long day. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Did you know that solving a few extra tasks on Sunday can make the rest of the week much easier?

1. Think of Sunday as the first day of the week.



Most people consider Sunday to be the last day of rest before returning to their daily routine. Instead, consider Sunday your first chance to prepare for the week’s tasks. Monday morning won’t be so overwhelming because it’s already the second day of the week!

2. Clean your email inbox.

Do you work on a standard 9-5 schedule? Then most emails you receive on Friday night are spam or junk mail, not work mail. Try to dismantle your email box on Sunday night. You’ll have more patience than on Monday when you’re tired and annoyed that the weekend is so fast.

3. Make a to-do list for the week.



When it comes to the question “what does a productive week mean”, it’s clear where the dog is buried. This is where it’s buried. Seriously. When the tasks for the week are sorted out, it will be much easier for you to tackle them on Monday morning. Buy groceries for the week, but make a plan first. Write down what you’ll eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day, along with a list of snacks. You’ll be able to spend much less on food when you plan your diet in advance. For such planning, you can have a separate notebook where you can write down menus and make a shopping list.

7. Clean up the house.

A productive week consists not only in work and completed items in a diary. There’s nothing worse than starting the week off with a messy house. Monday night isn’t a time when we usually care about dirty dishes or laundry. So it’s best to do it on Sunday so that this mess doesn’t hang like the sword of Damocles over you. It is much more pleasant to return to a clean apartment after a hard day at work. So don’t be lazy!
