Last year, special gastronomic venues and separate food outlets were organized in the regional center as part of events dedicated to farewell to winter, Victory Day, the #ТриЧетыре youth festival, and the City Day.

In addition, large-scale events also organized the preparation of soldier porridge, pilaf and other dishes, which visitors were treated to free of charge.

According to the mayor’s office, in 2023, during citywide events, guests and residents of Volgograd ate 3 tons of kebab, which is equivalent to the weight of an entire elephant, 10,000 pancakes, 1,500 grilled sausages, 6,000 pies and other pastries, 3,000 servings of shawarma, 1,000 servings of khinkali, 2,500 servings of cotton candy and popcorn and 5,000 pieces of ice cream.

The most popular soft drinks were kvass, lemonades and juices — 7,000 liters, while tea and coffee were among the warming drinks — 4,000 liters.
