Yekaterinburg was among the top ten popular destinations for solo travel in January. TVIL.RU, a Russian hotel and apartment booking service, shared the results of the study with URA.RU.
“Two cities shared the first place: Moscow and Sochi with 16% of single bookings. St. Petersburg is in second place, and Kazan is third (12% and 2% of bookings, respectively),” the report said. Vladivostok, Krasnodar, Yalta and Krasnaya Polyana are next. Yekaterinburg ranks eighth among tourists who want to travel alone.
TWIL.RU timed its research to coincide with Introvert Day, which is celebrated on January 2. “Perhaps we are all a little bit introverted at this time; we are tired of the fun and noisy companies, and we want to be alone for a little while. And the best way to immerse yourself is to travel,” experts noted.
