For the first time, Losiny Ostrov National Park has launched year-round glamping — a civilized vacation in cottages in nature. Daria Shuyskaya, a correspondent for MIR 24, found out what program is offered to visitors.
Five houses are ready to receive the first guests so far; seven more will open in spring.
“They are warm here, they have all the amenities: a bathroom, a shower, a toilet, a kitchenette, a living room, a bedroom. Warm and cozy houses,” said Olga Shulgina, Deputy Director for Park Improvement.
Outdoor recreation with all amenities — this is how the foreign word “glamping” is translated. We have also thought through the infrastructure here. Thus, a picnic area was equipped next to each house. There is also a car park and a tent where guests can get together and sing to the guitar.
The glamping itself is located in Losiny Ostrov National Park. Since deer and elk roam freely around the property, don’t be surprised if they look through your window. You can also walk along the deer trail yourself and watch how the reserve staff feed the animals.
“For an additional fee, you can visit the elk biological station and the aviary complex, where about 15 species of animals are waiting for their guests,” Shulgina said.
In spring and summer, tourists will also be allowed to visit the ornithological tower. There they will be able to watch forest birds from a height of 12 meters.
“Each tour will be accompanied by binoculars so that you can get a good view of everything. We have already worked out two excursion programs. The visitor himself runs the risk of not noticing a bird hiding in the nest, and an experienced ornithologist can give a hint. Believe me, this is a unique sight,” said Rustam Yakubov, the park’s director.
In the warmer months, safari tents with a sleeping area and a terrace overlooking a birch grove will also be installed.
